Property tax
Laredo's council unanimously adopted a 2026 rate of $0.506080 per $100 on September 21, 2026: $0.380253 for operations and $0.125827 for debt, a hair under 2025's $0.506090.
For investors: A flat rate is not a flat bill: under state truth-in-taxation math the motion described it as an effective 2.81 percent increase. Underwrite a Laredo rental on its new appraised value times this rate, not on last year's statement from the seller.

Laredo's taxpayer impact statement shows median homestead taxable value rising from $194,727 to $209,899, lifting the median city tax bill from $985.49 to $1,062.26.
For investors: Values, not the rate, are driving Laredo bills: about 7.8 percent more taxable value at the median in one year. A rental gets no 10 percent homestead cap, so its taxable value can follow the market more closely than a neighbor's homestead.

For 2025 the Comptroller records Webb County at $0.3825 per $100, Laredo College at $0.229249, Laredo ISD at $1.1568 and United ISD at $0.721655.
For investors: The school line can swing a Laredo bill by about 43.5 cents per $100, near $870 a year on a $200,000 house, depending on whether the parcel sits in Laredo ISD or United ISD. Check the district before comparing two listings.

Webb County's 2026 notice sets a no-new-revenue rate of $0.386 and a voter-approval rate of $0.444018 per $100, compared with the $0.3825 it levied for 2025.
For investors: The spread shows how far Webb County could lift its line without an election, up to about six cents more per $100. Until the adopted county figure shows on the tax statement, stress-test a Laredo rental's escrow at the higher number.
