Property tax
Conroe has kept its city property tax rate at $0.4272 per $100 for tax years 2022 through 2026, choosing it again in 2025 over a voter-approval rate of $0.4613.
For investors: Five years at one rate means the city line on a Conroe rental bill has moved only with appraisals. Model taxes from the current appraised value rather than the seller's older bill, since values kept changing while the rate held.

For tax year 2026 Conroe adopted $0.4272 per $100, split $0.3022 for operations and $0.1250 for debt, against a no-new-revenue rate of $0.4270 and a voter-approval rate of $0.4878.
For investors: The adopted rate sits a hair above no-new-revenue, so the city's take on an average existing Conroe home edges up only slightly in 2026. Use $0.4272 for the city portion when setting escrow on a purchase closing this fall.

Montgomery County adopted a 2026 rate of $0.3860 per $100, up from $0.3770 in 2025, and its tax office collects for the county, the City of Conroe and Conroe ISD.
For investors: The county added about nine-tenths of a cent this year, small next to the school levy. County, city and school taxes on a Conroe rental all go through the Montgomery County Tax Office, which also posts each entity's rate history.

Other 2026 rates on many Conroe parcels include $0.9471 per $100 for Conroe ISD, $0.1058 for Lone Star College and $0.0458 for the Montgomery County Hospital District.
For investors: With city and county added, the stack reaches about $1.91 per $100, so a $300,000 Conroe rental owes roughly $5,740 a year before any utility or management district. Read the parcel's full entity list, since many subdivisions add one.
