Short-term rentals
Duval's 6% bed tax is a 4% tourist development tax plus a 2% convention development tax, and with the 7.5% sales tax paid to the state, a Jacksonville short-term stay carries 13.5% in total.
For investors: Build the full 13.5% into Jacksonville nightly pricing. The 6% county share is always the owner's to remit to the Duval Tax Collector, while the 7.5% belongs to the Florida Department of Revenue, so confirm in writing whether a booking platform remits the state share.

Duval has no agreement with any booking platform to remit its bed tax, so Jacksonville owners file a return every month a property is offered, even with no stays; it is late after the 20th.
For investors: Assume the listing site sends nothing to Duval for you. Late returns draw a 10% monthly penalty, capped at 50%, with a $50 minimum plus daily interest, so put the 20th on the calendar like a mortgage payment and keep payout reports.
